Purpose

The Learning Disability Plan
sets out the ‘golden thread’ that brings partners
together to support people with learning disabilities. The Plan
will celebrate the positive work happening across the community and
health and social care services. Further, it will details actions for how to ensure people with
learning disabilities are supported, now and in the
future.
 

Decision

Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member
for Adult Social Care, Public Health and the Voluntary Sector has
endorsed the Learning Disability Plan for 2023-2026.
 
Reason for Decision: The Learning
Disability Plan 2023-2026 is called ‘Changing Lives’
and builds on ‘The Big Plan for Adults with a Learning
Disability, 2018-2021’. The 2023-2026 Plan recognises that
health and social care challenges have profound implications for
individuals with disabilities, their families, communities and the
wider health and care system. It outlines how the Council will
address these and make a meaningful difference in the lives of
those with learning disabilities.
