Decision
The Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care,
Public Health and Voluntary Sector has approved the Council’s
intention to declare itself as trustee of 27 dormant accounts and
has delegated authority to the Executive Director of Finance and
Resources to sign a statement formally declaring the Council as
trustee of the 27 dormant accounts. 
 
Reasons for
Decision
Westminster City Council have been unable to
locate any documentation regarding 27 accounts, and despite ongoing
efforts over the past three years, the accounts remain locked until
the Council can provide necessary documentation confirming its
authority to access the funds. To assume control of the other 27
funds, the Charity Commission advised the Council to issue a public
notice of its intention to declare itself as trustee, allowing a
28-day period for any challenges.
