Culture and Air Quality has approved the formal adoption of the
Cool Neighbourhoods Strategy.
 
Reasons for
Decision
Upon publishing the Climate Emergency Action
Plan in 2021, the Council committed to developing a Climate
Adaptation Plan to understand and address climate-related risks,
including local and national climate adaptation activity, to
protect Westminster’s vulnerable people, businesses,
services, assets and green spaces from the impacts of climate
change and extreme weather events.  The Cool
Neighbourhoods Strategy, which has been informed by the outputs of
the Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and community
engagement, meets the commitments set out in the Climate Emergency
Action Plan.
