Summary of Decision

The Cabinet Member for Streets has approved the procurement strategy outlined in the Cabinet Member Report entitled ‘Arboriculture Contract,’ including the length of contract and the timetable for the procurement which looks to procure a new contract by May 2026.

Reasons for Decision

Entering into a new contract will enable the Council to deliver its Arboriculture responsibilities under current legislation. Pre-market testing has confirmed that there is a strong market and therefore the Council will be able to achieve value for money through the use of an open market competition. This will then enable the procurement of a new contract that will deliver both the Council’s Fairer Westminster and statutory obligations.
