Purpose

The Cabinet Member will consider the variation
to the contract with Keltbray Built
Environment Ltd to progress the demolition of Church Street Site
A.

Decision

Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member
for Regeneration and Renters has noted the additional variation sum
of £2,940,141 in respect of additional demolition works which
has already been incurred to date to Church Street Site A, Phases 2
and 3, increasing demolition works contract sum to
£6,310,634, and approved an extension of time to the contract
programme for a period of six (6) months from May 2025 to November
2025. 
 
Reasons for Decision: A number of
discoveries have been made as part of the demolition which includes
the discovery of additional asbestos, discovery of underground
unknowns, extension to scope of works and additional costs in
relation to nesting birds. These have caused delays to the
demolition and incurred additional costs.
