Purpose

The Cabinet Member will consider a new Public
Space Protection Order to tackle on-street ASB in South Westminster
for 3-years to 2028.

Decision

Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member
for Children and Public Protection has approved the
introduction of the On-Street ASB (South Westminster) Public Space
Protection Order from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2028.

Reasons for Decision:There is
significant evidence to show that there is a problem with on-street
ASB in the South Westminster area. The problem is undermining
public safety, particularly in the evening and around hotspot areas
such as Westminster Cathedral. By introducing a PSPO to tackle
on-street ASB, residents, visitors and businesses in the area will
stand to benefit from improved safety through enforcement of the
order
