Decision

Decision Taken: The Cabinet Member for
Children and Public Protection approved the introduction of the
Pedicab PSPO to take effect from 18 November 2025 and run for
3-years.

Reasons for Decision: There is
significant evidence to show that there is a problem with pedicabs
across the Borough. The problem is undermining public safety
throughout the day, particularly in high foot fall areas such as
the West End. By introducing a PSPO to better regulate the most
problematic aspects of pedicab rider behaviour, residents, visitors
and businesses in the area will stand to benefit from improved
safety through enforcement of the order.
