Purpose

Cabinet will consider a procurement strategy
for the award of a new contract for Waste and Recycling
Collections, Street Cleansing and Winter Maintenance.

Decision

Cabinet approved the
following recommendations:
Approves the procurement strategy outlined in
this report.
 
Reasons for
Decision
The
current contract delivered by Veolia ends on 15 September 2027. To
enable a procurement of the new contract, agreement for the
procurement strategy is needed.

 

Agreement will facilitate the procurement process to enable
Westminster City Council (WCC) to continue to deliver its statutory
obligations under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. It will
also enable WCC to deliver its own priorities under the Fairer
Westminster Strategy.
 
A new
contract will provide an opportunity to update the requirements,
processes, and procedures to deliver current and future
services.
