Purpose

The Cabinet Member will consider the direct award of a Learning Disability Short Breaks Service contract to the incumbent service provider, LDN London for a period of up to 60 months.

Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member for Adults and Health has made the decision to approve the award of the contract for the provision of the Learning Disability Short Breaks Service to Learning Disability Network London Limited for 3 years with a start date of 1 April 2026 and with an optional extension of 2 years, and to delegate authority to the Executive Director of Adult Social Care and Public Health, following consultation with the Lead Member and confirmation that the contract has met key performance targets to exercise the option to extend the contract by a further 2 years.

Reason for Decision: Directly awarding this contract will enable the continuation of provision of respite provision without interruption, including the provision of services during a period of proposed refurbishment at Kingsbridge Road.
