Purpose

The Cabinet Member will consider the reprovision of Queen’s Park Family Hub at 17-23 Third Avenue with additional space for community use.

Decision

The Cabinet Member for Value for Money and Finance has made the decision to approve the award of a works contract to Borras Construction Ltd for the refurbishment and new-build extension works at Queen’s Park Family Hub and to delegate authority to the Executive Director for Finance & Resources to approve use of the contingency and/or approve variations to the contract, during the term of the contract.

The contract award is required to enable delivery of the Queen’s Park Family Hub project and to progress the refurbishment and extension works within the agreed programme. The recommended supplier, Borras Construction Ltd, submitted the highest-scoring tender following evaluation of the quality and cost criteria. The tender also demonstrates value for money, with the proposed construction cost of £3.688m being below the pre-tender estimate of £4.604m.
