Decision Taken:
 
The decision approved as outlined in the
report enabled the start of formal negotiations with the commercial
property tenants at Site A of Church Street, with the aim of
achieving vacant possession of all commercial property units and
termination of all commercial interests in readiness for
redevelopment.
 
 
Reason for
Decision:
 
It was deemed reasonable to allow the former
tenant, to occupy the unit on a tenancy at will until their new
unit became available, or the Council requires vacant possession -
whichever is earlier. The concern was that a halt in trade would
negatively impact the business of the former tenant and its ability
to take on the new premises.
