Decision
 
The Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care,
Public Health and Voluntary Sector has approved the direct
award of the Learning Disability (Bi-Borough) Short
Breaks Alison House Contract to
the value of £2.700m to LDN London (the
existing service provider) retrospectively from 1st October 2023
for a period of 30 months (2.5 years) up to 31st March
2026.
 
Reasons for
Decision
 
The Council has a statutory duty under the
Care Act 2014 to:
·      
Ensure appropriate personalised care and support to meet the
individual assessed needs of Service Users
·      
Support carers to help and maintain their caring role
·      
Maximise independence, focusing on choice and control for people in
receipt of Learning Disability Services.
·      
Ensure consistency and continuity of care, minimising service
disruption for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities living
in the community
 
This direct award will meet these aims and
provide the necessary time for specific consultation and engagement
to develop a service model, service specification and options to
support a re-procurement strategy.
