Purpose

Contractor to complete construction of the
Adpar, Queens Park Court, and Torridon development schemes,
following insolvency of Geoffrey Osbourne Ltd.

Decision

Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member
for Regeneration and Renters has approved the revised budget to
complete the works for the Package B sites of £63.86m; and
for the additional spend of £22.0m to be funded by utilising
Affordable Housing Fund; and three contract awards to appoint
Willmott Dixon Construction Limited as the Council’s
contractor to replace Geoffrey Osborne to deliver the remaining
construction build works
 
Reasons for Decision: The decision will
enable the progression and completion of the remaining building
works by Wilmott Dixon Construction Limited for the Package B
Projects (Queens Park Court, Torridon and Adpar). This fulfils the Council’s commitment
to deliver more affordable housing, with Package B on course to
deliver a total of 20 Specialist Needs Homes and 44 Social Rent
Homes.
