Award contract for delivery of Housing Aids
and Adaptations Service.

Decision

Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member
for Housing Services has approved the award of a contract to
Effectable Construction Services Ltd for an initial period of one
year with the option to extend by an additional year and for an
estimated contract value of £6,200,000.00 (exclusive of
VAT)
 
Reasons for Decision: The Council has a
statutory obligation to provide high quality accessible housing.
Aids and Adaptations focuses on meeting the specific needs of
residents, by providing adapted kitchens and bathrooms, stair lifts
and hoists and minor repairs as directed by an Occupational
Therapist. The demand for adapted housing has increased by 25%
during the previous contract. The route to market for this direct
award is through the NHMF Disability Adaptations framework, and
awarding in this way to the incumbent supplier, Effectable
Construction Services Limited, will eliminate any disruption to
existing residents who receive regular planned maintenance.
