Cabinet Members agreed, on 22 July 2025, to
adopt the Ascot Placemaking SPD and delegated authority to the
Assistant Director of Planning in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Planning, Governance and Asset Management and the
Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport & Customer Service
Centre for minor changes to be made to the Ascot Placemaking
Supplementary Planning Document prior to publication. Following
adoption, an error has been identified in the infrastructure
section of the SPD at section 9.3 (page 101). It currently states
that “Wider strategic infrastructure would be expected to be
secured through other potential funding streams including CIL
receipts with an estimate of £22.5M and exclude education
provision which is explained below.” The £22.5M figure
is incorrect as it does not reflect the costs set out in Appendix 3
of the SPD. It is proposed to delete the second part of the
sentence as follows: “Wider strategic infrastructure would be
expected to be secured through other potential funding streams
including CIL receipts”.

Reasons for the decision

It is considered that this would constitute a
minor change to the document, in line with delegated
authority.

Alternative options considered

See Table 1 of Cabinet report. The minor
post-adoption change proposed has no alternative options.
