Direct Insurance Broker award made in
conjunction with advice from procurement.

Reasons for the decision

Decision made to make direct award due to the
low value and specialist nature of the work.
This will enable the council to access the public sector insurance
market to insure the financial consequences of loss/damage to its
assets and its legal liabilities to third parties and
employees.
Brokers provide the mechanism by which the insurance tender is run
every five years along with administering ad-hoc policy matters
with insurers for all matters except for those involving the
current liability and motor insurance arrangements.
