The Cabinet approved the taxbase for the
borough at 72,218.63 at their meeting on 16th December 2025.
The decision to approve the split of the borough taxbase over the
parishes and non-parished areas, was delegated to the Executive
Director of Resources at the same Cabinet meeting.
This Decision approves the parish split of the overall borough
taxbase.

Reasons for the decision

The Council Tax base is an enabler of setting
the council budget and council tax requirement.

It is also a requirement for local preceptors to be able to set
their budgets and precept requirement for 2026/27.
