To replace the sports hall floor at Charters Leisure Centre/School, that has reached end of life, and has been damaged beyond economical repair.

Reasons for the decision

Without a suitable and timely replacement, both the school sport curriculum and the leisure operator's programmes will be heavily affected and will result in decreased participation and loss of revenue.

Alternative options considered

Alternative options included:

Do nothing - the sports hall will continue to be partially closed, affecting school, club and public use of the facilities, resulting in decreased participation and increase in loss of income to leisure operator

Repair - the repair options were expensive and temporary, with replacement being the only economical option
