To appoint Haslemere Windows as the main contractor on a project to replace and upgrade the windows at four schools (Alwyn Infants, Furze Platt Junior, Queen Anne First and Waltham St Lawrence Primary).

Reasons for the decision

An external tendering exercise has been carried out in accordance with the council's constitution. The tender from Haslemere Windows was the most economically advantageous.

Alternative options considered

he tendering exercise considered an alternative tender, but this was less economically advantageous and so it is not recommended that this be taken forward. Doing nothing would mean that no contractor would be appointed to carry out the works and the replacement and upgrade of failing (and often single-glazed) windows could not take place.
