To agree to commence a Scoping Consultation on the New Local Plan including publishing relevant consultation material.

Reasons for the decision

To give an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to provide feedback on the key issues and priorities that should be addressed in the new Plan and also provide feedback on how we can involve them in future stages of preparing the Plan. To also comply with Regulation 20 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.

Alternative options considered

There is no reasonable alternative to undertaking a scoping consultation. The Council is required to prepare a new local plan and a scoping consultation is a statutory requirement of the plan preparation process.
