To make an award of contract to Vinci Works to provide a new learning & development system to the council.

Reasons for the decision

We are currently using 2 separate providers for adult social care and corporate staff. This has resulted in differening standards to training and means system admin staff are inefficiently following two protocols to support learning. Vinci Works are able to provide one system for all staff that can fully integrate with iTrent, meaning we can run essential training reports more quickly. The system can also be used to manage all face-to-face courses, meaning employees can see all training information in one place.

Alternative options considered

If we stay with our existing providers we will continue to have 2 systems, with different standards and system admin protocols, leading to ongoing inefficiencies. Staff across adult social care and the rest of the council will have experience different levels of training. Being unable to link training systems directly to iTrent means training completion reports will continue to take time to be produced.
