Decision

That the Executive Director of Adult Services, Health and Communities, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health & Housing Services, notes the report and approves the recommendation to award a three-year contract for the East Berkshire Healthwatch Service. The contract will be made between Slough Borough Council and Help and Care, under which RBWM and Bracknell are Ancillary Authorities.

Reasons for the decision

This decision ensures the Council meets its statutory duty under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to commission an independent Local Healthwatch service. Following a joint procurement process with Slough Borough Council and Bracknell Forest Council, Help & Care was awarded the contract, providing value for money, service continuity and a consistent approach across east Berkshire. The contract includes provisions to manage any future legislative changes affecting Healthwatch.
