AGREED: To note the report and:
i)
Approve, in principle,
the expansion of Manor Green School by up to 20 pupils.
ii)
Approve, in principle,
the creation of a 24 place sixth form at 315 – 718 Forest
Bridge School, and notes that the school will need to submit a
Business Case to the Department of Education for
consideration.
iii)
Approve an additional
£100,000 capital budget for the Minor Special Educational
Needs & Disabilities (SEND) adaptations fund.
iv)
Recommend the grant
funded budgets for delivery of these proposals, as set out in Part
B of Appendix H (Part II) to Council for inclusion in the 2024/25
capital programme.
v)
Delegate authority to
the Executive Director of Children’s Services to approve
procurement and enter into contracts for the delivery of the new
SEND provision agreed in recommendations (i) to (iii), subject to Memorandums of
Understanding and Service Level Agreements between the local
authority and the schools and neighbouring local authorities involved in the
approved schemes being agreed and signed.
vi)
Approve, in principle,
to provide up to one third of the capital cost (in Part B Appendix
H (Part II)) of the proposal to provide 16 Foundation and Support
Internship Provision places at Berkshire College of Agriculture,
subject to the necessary SEND capital grant becoming
available.
vii)
Approve, in principle,
the creation of a Resourced Provision for children and young people
with Autistic Spectrum Condition at Churchmead Church of England School, subject to the
necessary SEND capital grant becoming available.
