Purpose

To consider a request from Brymbo Sports & Social Complex Ltd for a longer term lease of land known as Brymbo Sports & Social Complex, Heritage Way, Tanyfron, Wrexham LL11 5TF

Decision

RESOLVED –

(i)       That the grant of a new lease be authorised, for a minimum term of 75 years, at a nominal rent of £1 per annum of the land shown in Appendix 1 to report COH/27/26, to Brymbo Sports and Social Complex Ltd. on similar terms and conditions as the existing lease, dated 1 August 2008, including determination of boundaries and contracted out of the security of tenure provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, to be negotiated by the Chief Officer Housing and Assets, in consultation with the Lead Member for Finance and Asset Management.

(ii)      That the Chief Officer Housing and Assets be authorised to liaise with Brymbo Sports & Leisure Complex Ltd to concurrently surrender the lease dated 1 August 2008.

Reason for Decisions

To enable Brymbo Sports & Social Complex Ltd to explore and secure funding streams for the improvement of the existing facilities and to enhance the sports offering.
