Appeal Against Dismissal

The Board considered an appeal against dismissal for sickness absence from an employee within the Council's Core Service. The Head of Parking presented a report on the matter. The appellant, accompanied by their Trade Union representative, presented their case to the Board. After a thorough review of the officer's report and the representations made, the Personnel Board unanimously agreed to dismiss the appeal. The decision was made following a resolution to exclude the public and press from the remainder of the meeting due to the confidential nature of the business, as permitted under paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. ¹
