The Health Scrutiny Committee met on Thursday 4 June 2026 to review its work programme and discuss various public health matters. The committee noted the overview report and agreed on its work programme for the upcoming year.

Overview Report and Work Programme

The committee considered the Overview Report from the Governance and Scrutiny Support Unit, which detailed key decisions within the committee's remit and responses to previous recommendations. Members were invited to agree the committee's future work programme. Councillor T. Robinson, Executive Member for Healthy Manchester and Adult Social Care, offered support and senior officer assistance for the upcoming work programming session. The committee noted that the work programme would be discussed in more detail during a private session following the formal meeting, with an updated version to be circulated for the next meeting.

The committee also formally approved the minutes from the Health Scrutiny Committee meeting held on 5 March 2026.

The committee noted the passing of Councillor Judge, who would not be returning for the new municipal year, and expressed appreciation for his many years of dedicated service. They also acknowledged the departure of Helena Vesty, health and social care correspondent at the Manchester Evening News, thanking her for her important reporting on the committee's work.
