The Pension Board of Scottish Borders Council met on Monday 6 July 2026 to discuss the rotation of its Chair and Vice-Chair, and to consider the membership of the Board following a resignation. The Board also had scheduled discussions regarding a joint meeting with the Pension Committee.
Rotation of Chair and Vice-Chair
The meeting was scheduled to include a formal rotation of the Pension Board Chair and Vice-Chair, in accordance with the Pension Board Constitution.
Membership of the Pension Board
The Board was set to note changes to its membership following the resignation of Ms K Robb. The updated membership was listed as: Councillor Julie Pirone (Scottish Borders Council), Mr R MacNay (Live Borders), Ms N McArthur (South of Scotland Enterprise), Ms L Murray (Borders College), Mr D Bell (Unite), Mr M Drysdale (GMB), Ms K M Hughes (Unison), and Mr A Stavert (Unison).
Appointment to Pension Fund Investment and Performance Sub-Committee
Consideration was scheduled for the appointment of a replacement member to the Pension Fund Investment and Performance Sub-Committee, to fill the vacancy left by Ms K Robb.
Joint Meeting of Pension Committee and Pension Board
The Board was scheduled to consider any issues that needed to be raised in relation to a joint meeting with the Pension Committee.
Private Business
The meeting agenda indicated that private business was to be discussed. Before proceeding, a motion was to be approved under Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the public from the meeting. This exclusion was to be on the grounds that the items involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the relevant paragraphs of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Act. Following this, a Private Minute of a meeting held on 11 December 2025 was to be considered. Additionally, there was a scheduled discussion on any issues required to be raised in respect of private business discussed at the joint meeting of the Pension Committee and Pension Board.
