The Civic Government Licensing Committee of Scottish Borders Council is scheduled to convene on Friday, 19 June 2026. The meeting's agenda includes a review of licences issued under delegated powers and consideration of applications for Short Term Let Licences.
Licences Issued Under Delegated Powers
The committee's report pack details a series of licences that have been issued under delegated powers. These cover a range of activities, including late-hours catering, marches and parades, market operations, public entertainment, private hire vehicles, skin piercing and tattooing, and short-term lets. The licences cover periods from March to June 2026.
Short Term Let Licence Applications
A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to considering applications for Short Term Let Licences. Two specific applications are scheduled for review:
- 7 Heriot House, Heriot, EH38 5YB: The committee will examine an application for a grant of a Short Term Let Licence for this property. The documentation provided includes the application summary, floor layout plan, noise, nuisance and anti-social behaviour policy, and details of any objections received along with the applicant's responses. The applicant has been invited to attend the meeting.
- 8 Rutherford Gardens, West Linton EH46 7AP: Similarly, an application for a grant of a Short Term Let Licence for this address will be considered. The supporting documents include the application summary, floor layout plan, and information regarding objections and the applicant's responses. The applicant is also expected to attend.
The committee will also consider a motion to exclude the public from discussions relating to private business, citing the potential disclosure of exempt information under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.
The meeting is scheduled to be held in the Council Chamber at Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells, and will also be accessible remotely via Microsoft Teams. All public business will be livestreamed and recorded for public viewing for 180 days.
