The Licensing Sub-Committee D of Hackney Council is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. The committee will consider applications for premises licences, including one for a late-night refreshment establishment and another for a street party event.
Premises Licence Application: 128 Kingsland High Street, E8 2NS
The committee is scheduled to review an application for a premises licence for 128 Kingsland High Street, E8 2NS, in the Dalston ward. The application seeks authorisation for the provision of late-night refreshment. The proposed hours for this activity are from 11:00 to 00:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays; 11:00 to 01:00 on Thursdays; and 11:00 to 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The premises would also be open from 11:00 to 21:00 on Sundays.
Representations have been received from the Licensing Authority on the grounds of the prevention of public nuisance. Additionally, two representations have been lodged by local residents, raising concerns related to the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm. The applicant, Mr Malek Taheri, has proposed conditions to address these concerns, including the maintenance of a comprehensive CCTV system, an incident log, and measures for waste management and litter control. The report pack notes that the Environmental Health Authority (Environmental Enforcement) and the Police have withdrawn their representations based on agreed conditions.
Premises Licence Application: Krankbrother Street Party, Wilson Street
Another item on the agenda is an application for a premises licence for a Krankbrother Street Party, located on Wilson Street (between Dysart Street and Sun Street), EC2A 2ER, in the Hoxton East and Shoreditch ward. This application is for a one-day event on a single Saturday between 1 May and 30 September annually, with event timings from 12:00 to 22:00. The proposed licensable activities include outdoor live music, recorded music, performances of dance, and the supply of alcohol for consumption on the premises.
The Environmental Health Authority (Environmental Protection) has requested the submission of a Post Event Noise Report for their records. No other representations have been received from Responsible Authorities. However, one representation has been received from local residents on the grounds of public safety and the prevention of public nuisance. The applicant, Krankbrother Ltd, has proposed conditions derived from their operating schedule, which include the provision of an Event Safety Management Plan, controlled access via ticketing and SIA licensed security, a Challenge 25
policy, and on-site waste management and post-event cleaning. The applicant has also stated that the event is advertised for over 18s and programmed to appeal to an audience of 25+, with ID checks at entry and bars.
The committee will also consider the Licensing Sub-Committee Hearing Procedure and Temporary Event Notices as standing items.
