Written Updates and Information Items
The Area Board was scheduled to note several information items, including updates from Community First, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Wessex Community Action. Wiltshire Council provided information on its Consultation Portal, the Connect to Work Programme and Skills Bootcamps, the Wiltshire Faith Communities Network, the Community Lottery, and the Community Governance Review.
Key Partner Updates
Verbal updates were anticipated from Wiltshire Police, with Inspector Simon Garrett providing information, including a response to a question from Councillor Philip Whitehead. Representatives from Town and Parish Councils were also scheduled to provide brief updates. Written updates from Wiltshire Police on their Devizes Neighbourhood Policing Team, road safety, and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) were also to be noted.
Community Spotlight: Devizes Community Lounge / Youth Space
A segment was dedicated to highlighting the work of the Devizes Community Lounge / Youth Space, which had received grant funding from the Area Board.

Local Highways and Footpaths Improvements Group (LHFIG)
The minutes and any recommendations from the LHFIG meetings held on 12 March 2026 and 11 June 2026 were to be considered. Recommendations included funding for speed limit implementation in Bishops Cannings, speed limit assessments in Stert and Rowde, and a speed assessment in Seend Cleeve.
Air Quality and Sustainable Transport (AQST)
Updates and any recommendations from the Devizes Air Quality and Sustainable Transport (AQST) Group were to be received.
Appointments
The meeting was scheduled to include the appointment of lead Members to the LHFIG, AQST, Health and Wellbeing Group (HWBG), and other Devizes Area Board outside bodies for the upcoming year.
Funding Applications
The Area Board was to consider applications for funding, with details of the budgets and requested amounts provided. The Community Area Grant budget was £24,726.00, Youth Grants £21,421.00, and Older and Vulnerable Grants £7,500.00. Applications included requests from The Market Lavington Community Hall Management Trust, Potterne Village Hall, Easterton Village Hall, the Our Time Project, Spurgeons Childrens Charity Wiltshire Family Hub, West Lavington Youth Club, and Wiltshire Youth for Christ.
