The Licensing, Environment & Safety Committee of Stockport Council met on Wednesday 1 July 2026 to consider applications for Private Hire Driver's licences. The committee reviewed three cases, P1835, P1838, and P1839, all of which involved applicants with previous convictions. The committee considered reports from the Director for Place Management detailing the convictions and interviewed the applicants.
Private Hire Driver Licence Applications
The committee considered three applications for Private Hire Driver's licences, all of which were for new applicants with previous convictions.
Case Number P1835: This application had been adjourned from a previous meeting on 29 April 2026. Following a review of the applicant's previous convictions and an interview with the applicant, who was accompanied by a family member, the committee's decision for this case was recorded in the minutes of a subsequent meeting held on 23 September 2026, where the application was granted.
Case Number P1838: The committee considered the previous convictions of this applicant and interviewed them. The evidence for the meeting on 1 July 2026 does not contain a resolution for this application.
Case Number P1839: Similar to the other cases, this applicant's previous convictions were reviewed, and the applicant was interviewed. The evidence for the meeting on 1 July 2026 does not contain a resolution for this application.
