The Economy and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee of Shropshire Council met on Thursday 14 May 2026. During the meeting, Councillor Ed Potter was elected as the new Chair of the committee, and Councillor Sam Walmsley was appointed as Vice-Chair.
Election of Chairman
Councillor Ed Potter was elected as the Chairman of the Economy and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee for the forthcoming municipal year. This decision was made following a proposal, seconded, and duly resolved by the committee members.
Appointment of Vice-Chairman
Councillor Sam Walmsley was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Economy and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee. This appointment was also made following a proposal, seconded, and duly resolved by the committee.
Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Brendan Mallon, and Councillor Dawn Husemann attended as a substitute. The meeting was attended by Councillors Ed Potter, Sam Walmsley, Craig Emery, Adam Fejfer, Alan Holford, Benedict Jephcott, Chris Naylor, Wendy Owen, Sharon Ritchie-Simmons, and Dawn Husemann. The committee officer for the meeting was Sarah Townsend. The meeting took place in The Council Chamber, The Guildhall, Frankwell Quay, Shrewsbury, SY3 8HQ.
