Appointment of Strategic Director of Resources

The committee interviewed candidates for the position of Strategic Director of Resources. Following the interview process, the committee resolved to offer the post to Rob Manning, subject to the completion of necessary appointment checks. This decision was made in accordance with the Officer Employment Procedure Rules, which stipulate that offers for chief officer and heads of service appointments can only be made if no material objections are received from Cabinet members. The Democratic Services team confirmed that Cabinet members had been consulted for this purpose. The role of Strategic Director of Resources is a key position within the Council's Corporate Leadership Team, responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, developing and implementing financial strategy, and acting as the Council's statutory Chief Finance Officer. The post holder will also oversee the London Borough of Waltham Forest's Local Government Pension Fund. The recruitment process adhered to the Council's Recruitment & Selection Policy and Procedure.
