The Planning and Development Control Committee met on Tuesday 16 January 2024 to discuss several planning applications. The committee granted permission for developments at 160-164 Hurlingham Road and 9 Thames Reach, while a decision on the application at 299, 301 and 303 Munster Road was deferred pending a legal undertaking.
160-164 Hurlingham Road, London SW6 3NG
The committee authorised the Director of Planning and Property to grant permission for the demolition of existing light industrial buildings and the erection of a part 4/part 5 storey building to provide a care home. This decision was made subject to the completion of a satisfactory legal agreement and conditions outlined in the report. The application was presented by Roy Asagba-Power, with the applicant and agent speaking in support. The committee voted 4-3 in favour of granting permission.
9 Thames Reach, 80 Rainville Road, London W6 9HS
Permission was granted for the erection of a sun room, following the removal of an observatory over part of the existing upper roof terrace, and the erection of an additional floor over part of the existing lower roof terrace. The decision was made subject to conditions listed in the report. Roy Asagba-Power presented the item, and the agent spoke in support. The committee voted 6-0 with one abstention in favour of granting permission.
299, 301 And 303 Munster Road, London SW6 6BJ
The committee discussed the application for the erection of an additional floor at roof level to numbers 299, 301, and 303 Munster Road. Roy Asagba-Power presented the item, and the architect spoke in support. The committee debated the implications of a unilateral undertaking to ensure that at least two adjoining properties would be developed simultaneously. Ultimately, the committee voted against the officer's recommendation to refuse permission, instead opting to delegate authority to officers to grant planning permission subject to a Unilateral Undertaking being secured within six months. If the undertaking was not completed, permission would be refused. The committee also agreed that the planning conditions and terms of the Unilateral Undertaking would be agreed with the Chairman before the planning permission was issued. The vote to refuse the officer's recommendation was 1-6, and the subsequent motion to grant permission subject to the undertaking was carried by 6-1.
