The Planning Committee of Enfield Council met on Tuesday 14 July 2026. The meeting's agenda included a report from the Head of Planning and Building Control, and discussions on several planning applications. The committee also noted the dates for future meetings.
Land Rear of 3-7 Seaforth Gardens and 35 Broad Walk, London N21 3BT (25/03706/FUL)
The committee was scheduled to consider a recommendation for the construction of a detached dwelling house, including a garage, indoor gym, and outdoor swimming pool, on land to the rear of properties in Seaforth Gardens and Broad Walk. The Director of Planning and Growth was to be authorised to grant permission subject to conditions, with delegated authority to finalise the wording of these conditions.
North Middlesex Hospital, Sterling Way, London, N18 1QX (26/00930/FUL)
A proposal for the phased redevelopment of North Middlesex Hospital was on the agenda. This included the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of residential and mixed-use buildings, providing commercial uses (such as NHS offices and a nursery) and residential dwellings. The recommendation was to grant planning permission subject to referral to the Greater London Authority and the completion of a Section 106 Agreement. Delegated authority was to be granted to the Director of Planning to finalise conditions and the Section 106 agreement, including any additional requirements from the Greater London Authority or government bodies. A supplementary agenda item noted an update regarding a heritage plan and recording for the demolition of a non-designated heritage asset, as well as a late objection from a resident raising concerns about building height, housing numbers, affordable housing provision, parking, and construction impacts. Officers provided a response addressing these points, maintaining their recommendation to grant permission.
304-322 Ordnance Road, Enfield, EN3 6HH (26/00783/FUL)
The committee was scheduled to discuss the demolition of an existing building and the erection of a part 4, part 5, and part 6-storey building comprising residential units. The recommendation was to grant planning permission subject to the completion of a Section 106 Agreement, with delegated authority to the Director of Planning and Growth to finalise conditions and the agreement.
Land Opposite 1A and 1B Towpath Road, London, N18 3QX (24/03065/FUL)
This item concerned engineering works to install a low-level flood restraint barrier, approximately 140 metres in length, adjacent to Towpath Road. The recommendation was for the Director of Planning and Building Control to be granted delegated authority to grant planning permission subject to conditions, including ensuring continued pedestrian access to the towpath.
Broomfield House, Broomfield Park, Broomfield Lane, London, N13 4HE (26/02136/RE4 & 26/02137/LBC)
A proposal for the dismantling of part of Broomfield House to create a memorial garden was scheduled for discussion. This involved removing unstable walls and adapting sound sections to facilitate its use as a garden, with the remaining footprint becoming a garden space with landscape restoration. The recommendation was to grant both planning permission and listed building consent, subject to conditions and the completion of a Shadow Section 106 agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding.
