Concerns raised included increased anti-social behaviour, noise, late-night disturbance, parking issues, and intimidating congregations of customers. Moon Lounge, Unit C7B, Angel Road Works, Advent Way, London, N18 3BH

A new premises licence application for Moon Lounge was scheduled for discussion. The proposed operation was for a late-night bar and lounge operating until 3:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays within an industrial estate. The application had attracted objections from the Police, the Licensing Authority, and two neighbouring commercial operators, all citing concerns related to the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, and the prevention of public nuisance. The report highlighted that the premises was located in an area with existing high crime levels and that introducing a late-night venue could increase cumulative impact. Concerns were also raised about the suitability of the location, inadequate security and dispersal plans, and the applicant's preparedness to manage risks associated with a late-night venue.

Churchfields Recreation Ground, Great Cambridge Road, London, N9 9LE

The committee was also scheduled to consider a variation to an existing premises licence for the British Alevi Federation at Churchfields Recreation Ground. The application sought to extend indoor sporting events by one hour earlier, add the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises, and amend the premises plan. However, representations were received from 13 local residents objecting to the application, primarily on the grounds of preventing public nuisance, public safety, and the protection of children from harm, citing the proximity of schools and nurseries. A key point of discussion was the applicant's intention regarding the sale of alcohol, with representatives clarifying their position on serving alcohol at specific events and the need for a licence to do so, even if not for commercial sale.
