Community Board Priorities

A significant portion of the meeting was scheduled to focus on the High Wycombe Community Board's three key priorities, as identified through community feedback. These priorities are:

• Youth and Empowering Young People: The board was set to discuss plans to support initiatives that advance and promote positive and sustainable youth engagement in High Wycombe. This includes collaborating with young people, the community, and voluntary sector partners to amplify local initiatives, explore outreach efforts, encourage creative alternatives, foster positive role models, and support improved outcomes for young people. The aim by Summer 2026 is to connect youth services, raise awareness of available support, and champion community-led solutions, empowering community champions and volunteers working with young people.
• Litter and Fly-Tipping: The board was scheduled to discuss efforts to improve the condition of the urban environment and access to green space across High Wycombe. This priority aims to build pride in the local area through partnerships with local businesses, schools, and volunteer groups. Initiatives such as waste reduction through behaviour change and developing a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the natural environment were to be explored. By Autumn 2026, the board hoped to play a coordinating role, linking grassroots efforts with council services to create cleaner, greener environments.
• Information Sharing to Create Community Connectedness: Following feedback from ward partners and community organisations, the board was to discuss improving how residents find out what is happening in High Wycombe. The challenge of multiple outlets sharing updates and promoting projects makes it difficult for people to know what is on, where to go, and how to get involved. By Spring 2026, the board aimed to act as a connector, supporting efforts to streamline local communications, signpost opportunities, and promote a more joined-up approach to community connectedness across the town.

Attendees were expected to provide feedback on these priorities, with Fay Ewing, Community Board Manager, set to review this input and contact board members regarding their involvement in the delivery of these priorities.

Community Board Updates

The meeting was also scheduled to include updates and informal panel discussions led by Fay Ewing. These updates were expected to cover ongoing projects and initiatives. Previous minutes from the meeting held on Wednesday 1 October 2025 were also to be reviewed and signed off.

The agenda also indicated a networking session was planned, providing an opportunity for attendees to connect and share ideas for potential collaboration. The date of the next meeting was to be confirmed.
