Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Islington and are not the council. About us
The Appointments and General Purposes Committee of Islington Council was scheduled to consider the appointment of a new Director of Law and Governance. The committee was also scheduled to review minutes from previous meetings.
Appointment of Director of Law and Governance
The committee was scheduled to interview candidates for the significant role of Director of Law and Governance, who also serves as the Council's Monitoring Officer1. The report pack indicated that the committee was asked to agree the final salary for the successful candidate, within an advertised range of £124,431 to £140,445, plus an additional £12,534 per annum for the Monitoring Officer duties. Any offer of employment was scheduled to be subject to the Executive Notification Procedure, and the final appointment was scheduled to be submitted to the Council for approval. The report highlighted that the postholder would play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Corporate Plan.
Minutes of Previous Meetings
