The Planning and Building Standards Committee is scheduled to consider several planning applications, including a proposed neighbourhood retail store, the conversion of stables into apartments, and a residential development. The committee will also review a request to extend the operational lifespan of a wind farm.
New Retail Store Near West Linton
A proposal for the demolition of three agricultural sheds at Land north of Howieson Hall Farmhouse in West Linton is scheduled for discussion. The plans include the erection of a neighbourhood retail store, along with new access, parking, and associated infrastructure.
Spottiswoode House Conversions
The committee is expected to review plans for alterations and a change of use at Spottiswoode House in Gordon. The proposals involve converting stables into three self-catering apartments and creating an office from dog kennels, as well as the installation of a free-standing air source heat pump with an enclosure.
Affordable Housing Development in Selkirk
A residential development comprising 59 affordable dwellinghouses and associated works at Land Previously Heather Mills in Selkirk is also on the agenda.
Quixwood Moor Wind Farm Lifespan Extension
Consideration is to be given to a variation of Condition 8 for Quixwood Moor Wind Farm in Grantshouse, Duns. The application seeks to extend the operational lifespan of the existing wind farm from 25 years to 35 years, a change from the original planning permission approved under planning permission 11/01662/FUL.
Appeals and Reviews
A briefing note by the Chief Planning and Housing Officer concerning appeals and reviews is scheduled for consideration.
