Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Brent and are not the council. About us
The Senior Staff Appointments Sub-Committee of Brent Council is scheduled to convene on Thursday 17 September 2026. The primary focus of the meeting will be the appointment of a new Director of Public Health & Leisure. The committee will also review the minutes from previous meetings.
Appointment of Brent Director of Public Health & Leisure
The committee is scheduled to undertake interviews for the significant role of Brent Director of Public Health & Leisure. This process will be conducted jointly with the Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC). The AAC members include Nigel Chapman, Corporate Director Children and Young People for LB Brent; Darrell Gale, a Faculty Assessor; Robyn Doran from the London and North West London NHS Trust; and Julie Billett, Deputy Regional Director for London at the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). The interview pack, which contains details of the final candidates, the job description, and the person specification for the role, has been provided to the committee members. It is anticipated that the press and public will be asked to leave the meeting for this item, as it relates to information about individuals.
Minutes of Previous Meetings
The sub-committee is scheduled to review and approve the minutes from two previous Senior Staff Appointments Sub-Committees. These meetings took place on Tuesday 18 August 2026 and Thursday 20 August 2026. The minutes from these earlier sessions are available for review.
