The Licensing Sub-Committee of Tunbridge Wells Council met on Tuesday 22 September 2026. The meeting was scheduled to include procedural matters and a review of a current Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence.
Review of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence
The primary item scheduled for discussion was a review of a current Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence. This item was designated as exempt from public access due to the potential disclosure of information relating to individuals, their financial or business affairs, and matters connected to the prevention, investigation, or prosecution of crime. The report pack indicated that this review would involve information contained within several appendices (A through F), which were also exempt from public disclosure. The Local Government Act 1972, as amended, was cited as the reason for the exemption, specifically paragraphs (1), (2), and (7) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A. These paragraphs relate to information concerning any individual, information likely to reveal an individual's identity, and information relating to actions taken or to be taken in connection with crime prevention, investigation, or prosecution.
The meeting agenda also included standard procedural items. These were an announcement on procedural matters by the Chair and the reception of any declarations of interest by members in accordance with the Members' Code of Conduct.
