The Licensing, Environment & Safety Committee of Stockport Council was scheduled to consider several applications for private hire driver and operator licences, as well as a request for a variation to the Hackney Carriage Tariff. The meeting was also set to address the exclusion of the public for certain agenda items.
Private Hire Driver Licence Applications
The committee was scheduled to consider reports concerning new applicants for Private Hire Driver's licences. For each of these applications, the Director for Place Management provided a report detailing the previous convictions of the applicant. The committee was asked to determine whether each applicant was a fit and proper
person to hold such a licence. This consideration was scheduled for Case Numbers P1790, P1791, and P1792.
Private Hire Operator Licence Application
A report was scheduled to be presented regarding an existing applicant for an Operator's Licence. This report detailed previous convictions declared on a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The committee was requested to consider whether this applicant remained a fit and proper person to continue holding an Operator's Licence, under Case Number P1793.
Hackney Carriage Tariff Variation
The committee was scheduled to consider a request for a variation to the Hackney Carriage Tariff. This item was accompanied by a report from the Director for Place Management and a document outlining proposed tariff changes. The committee was to review these documents to inform its consideration of the tariff variation.
Public Question Time and Urgent Decisions
The agenda also included a slot for public question time, where members of the public could submit questions to the committee on matters within its remit. Additionally, the committee was scheduled to receive a report on any urgent actions taken under the Council's Constitution since the previous meeting.
Exclusion of the Public
A procedural item was scheduled to determine whether it was in the public interest to exclude the public from the meeting during the consideration of specific agenda items. This exclusion would be based on the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, if the items contained information relating to an individual
.
