Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) National Training Framework
The committee was asked to consider a report on the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) National Training Framework, a statutory training framework issued by the Welsh Government.
The report included a summary of Newport City Council's implementation of the framework and noted that:
1173 staff attended Group 1 VAWDASV (e-learning) during 2023-2024 which means NCC have trained 84% of their staff in Group 1 since publication of the National Training Framework in March 2016.
The report also summarised the Gwent National Training Framework Annual Report 23-24, which was provided as Appendix A to the report.
A letter from Jane Hutt AS/MS, the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip, about the National Training Framework was provided as Appendix B to the report.
