The North Planning Committee of West Northamptonshire Council met on Wednesday 8 January 2025, approving six out of seven planning applications discussed. A proposal for new homes off Farnborough Drive, Daventry, was deferred to a future meeting.

The committee approved the proposed extension to provide garaging and storage at Lower Farm House, Dodford, subject to conditions. Councillor James Hill proposed, and Councillor Daniel Cribbin seconded, the officer's recommendation, which was carried with six votes for and one against.
Demolition of existing garage and erection of single storey 3-bedroom bungalow (self-build) with associated parking, refuse storage and landscaping at 49, The Greenway, Daventry
Permission was granted for the demolition of an existing garage and the erection of a single-storey, three-bedroom bungalow at 49, The Greenway, Daventry. Councillor Daniel Cribbin proposed, and Councillor Harry Barrett seconded, the officer's recommendation, which was carried with six votes for and one against.
Change of Use from dwelling (C3 Use) to Children's Home (C2 Use) for up to 3 no. children and conversion of existing garage to habitable room at 73, Lowlands Close, Northampton

Retrospective Application for planning permission: Temporary School accommodation on the site of Buckton Fields School, Boughton
Permission was granted for the retrospective application for temporary school accommodation at Buckton Fields Primary School, Boughton. Councillor Harry Barrett proposed, and Councillor Rupert Frost seconded, the officer's recommendation, which was carried with six votes for.
Construction of coffee shop, gymnasium, offices, flexible office space and associated car parking at Grovelands Business Park, East Haddon
The committee approved the construction of a mixed-use development at Grovelands Business Park, East Haddon, comprising a coffee shop, gymnasium, offices, flexible office space, and associated car parking. Councillor Harry Barrett proposed, and Councillor Sally Beardsworth seconded, the officer's recommendation, which was carried with six votes for. This approval is subject to conditions and the completion of a Section 106 Agreement to secure a workplace travel plan and associated monitoring contributions.
