The Chief Officers Employment Committee of Cornwall Council met on 11 July 2025, and the main business was to discuss senior recruitment for the Strategic Director Community Wellbeing position. The committee also approved the minutes of the previous meeting held on 24 June 2025.

Senior Recruitment: Strategic Director Community Wellbeing

The committee convened to discuss the senior recruitment process for the Strategic Director Community Wellbeing. This was Part 2 of the discussion, with Part 1 having taken place at the meeting on 24 June 2025. Following discussion, the press and public were excluded from the meeting to allow for debate on this topic.

Exclusion of Press and Public

The committee resolved to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the discussion of the senior recruitment, citing the need to protect information relating to individuals and information that could reveal an individual's identity. This decision was made in accordance with the Local Government Act 1972¹.

Approval of Minutes

The committee approved the minutes of the previous meeting held on 24 June 2025. Councillor Leigh Frost, Leader of the Council & Group Leader - Liberal Democrat Group, moved the motion, which was seconded by Councillor Martyn Alvey ( Deputy Group Leader - Conservative Group). The confidential minutes from the 24 June 2025 meeting were also approved.
