The Joint Advisory Committee for the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty was scheduled to meet to discuss the management plan for the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and to receive updates on various projects and initiatives related to the area.
Surrey Hills Management Plan
The meeting included discussion of the Surrey Hills Management Plan. The Surrey Hills Board was scheduled to consider the draft plan, which sets out the vision, objectives, and policies for the management of the AONB for the period 2025-2030.
The Surrey Hills AONB Management Plan is a statutory document that guides the management of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Project Updates
The meeting was also scheduled to include updates on a number of projects and initiatives related to the Surrey Hills AONB, including:
- The status of the Inspiring Views project, which aims to improve access to viewpoints in the AONB.
- An update on the Chalk Streams project, which aims to protect and restore chalk streams in the AONB.
- The latest news on the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme, which provides funding to farmers in protected landscapes to support sustainable farming practices.
- An update on the work of the Surrey Hills Arts Council, which promotes the arts in the AONB.
