The Wrexham County Borough Council was scheduled to meet on 24 September 2025. Appointment of Chief Executive

The council was scheduled to exclude the press and public from the meeting to approve the appointment of the candidate recommended by the Appointments Panel as Chief Executive.

The agenda stated that the decision to exclude the press and public was made because the report contained personal data relating to an individual, and that:

to make this information public would disclose personal data relating to an individual in contravention of the principles of the Data Protection Act. Because of this and since there did not appear to be an overwhelming public interest requiring the disclosure of personal data she felt that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
