The Property Sub-Committee of Staffordshire Council met on Wednesday 19 November 2025, approving recommendations for the transfer of land for Havergale Primary School and the purchase of a new site for a waste transfer station. The committee also noted a report on the activity of the County Farms Tenancies Panel and confirmed the letting of a holding as a progression farm.

Havergale Primary School Playing Field Transfer

The committee approved the transfer of part of the freehold interest in Havergale Primary School's playing fields to the Lichfield Diocese. This transfer is to facilitate the construction of a new building on the playing field. The existing academy lease for the playing fields will also be varied accordingly. The final details of both transactions will be delegated to the assistant director for commercial and assets.

Purchase of Site at Apedale Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme

Proposals for the acquisition of a site at Apedale Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme for a new Waste Transfer Station and Household Waste Recycling Centre were considered. The committee agreed in principle to the proposed purchase and delegated final approval of the heads of terms to the Director for Finance and Resources. Six-monthly report on the Activity of the County Farms Tenancies Panel

The committee received and noted a report detailing the activity of the County Farms' Tenancies Panel for the period of July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025. The report included details of decisions made by the panel during this period.

Progression Letting of Holding No 13 Audley Estate

Members confirmed the letting of Holding No 13 Audley Estate County Farm as a Progression Farm. This decision was made following recommendations and approval under the County Farms Tenancies Panel procedures. The proposal included extending the existing landholding to create a progression farm and granting a new lease for the full allowable term of 21 years, extending to 2047.
