Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund 2025-26

The Trustees were scheduled to agree on the charities chosen by the Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Margaret Greer, for the Mayoral Year 2025-26.

The charities listed for consideration were:

• The Royal Free Charity: North Mid Red Cell services fund, which supports adult and paediatric red cell services at North Middlesex University Hospital.
• The Black Heritage Hub, described as an organisation committed to uplifting and transforming the lives of the Black community in Enfield and beyond, by creating a vibrant business and cultural hub that serves as a beacon of empowerment, education, and inspiration.
• Macmillan Cancer Support, supported by Mr Hayes Rees, who raises funds for those suffering or affected by cancer in Enfield.

List of Distribution of Funds 2024-25

The report pack included a list of proposed distributions from the Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund 2024-25, for agreement by the Trustees.

The distribution list of monies raised by Councillor Mohammad Islam, Mayor of Enfield 2024-25, was:

• Edmonton Community Partnerships = £3130
• Youth and Community Connexions = £3129
• Family Based Solutions = £3129

The total amount of monies raised was £9388.

Officer's Report on Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund 2024-25

The Trustees were scheduled to receive an officer's report on the Mayor of London Borough of Enfield Charity Appeal Fund 2024-25¹.

This year's accounts have been independently examined and work has been completed by the Internal Audit team which identified their key findings below.

The report noted that Internal Audit reviewed the financial statements and accounting records provided and their review had not identified any significant concerns regarding the accuracy and completeness of the accounting records. They confirmed that the amount available for distribution was £9388.

The report also noted that the Trustees have agreed that donation recipients will provide details of how the donations were spent within a set timeframe for accountability purposes.
