Summary

Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Haringey and are not the council. About us

The Planning Sub Committee of Haringey Council is scheduled to consider two significant planning applications, one for a large residential development and another for alterations to an existing planning permission. The committee will also receive an update on other major development proposals within the borough.

Mallard Place Development

A full planning application for a substantial new development at Mallard Place, Coburg Road, Wood Green N22 6TS is scheduled for discussion. The proposal involves the demolition of existing buildings to construct 150 new council homes, alongside flexible workspace. The development would comprise a 22-storey building with an 8-storey wing, and a 14-storey building with a 6-storey wing. The plans also include public realm improvements, landscaping, and provision for cycle parking, blue badge parking, servicing, and refuse and recycling. The report pack for this item can be found here. Further details on conditions and appendices are available in separate documents: Appendix 1 Conditions Mallard Place FINAL and Appendix 2 3 4 5 6 - Mallard Place. The main report for this application is available here.

Berol Quarter Application

The committee is also set to review an application made under Section 73 of the Town and Country Planning Act 19901 concerning the Berol Quarter, Ashley Road, Tottenham Hale, London, N17 9LJ. This application seeks to vary Condition 2 of a previous planning permission (HGY/2023/0261) granted on 03 March 2025. Specifically, permission is being sought to change 60 intermediate affordable homes to market sale units. Additionally, the proposal includes altering approved drawings to show inward-opening doors at the roof level of 2 Berol Yard, replacing the previously permitted glass panels. The report detailing this application is available here. Supporting documents include Appendix 1 - Planning Conditions and Informatives CLEAN, new Appendix 2 - Report to Planning Sub-Committee PSC for HGY.2023.0261 with title, new Appendix 3 - PSC Report Appendices for HGY.2023.0261 with title, and new Appendix 4 - Addendum Report to PSC for HGY.2023.0261 with title. The minutes of the previous Planning Sub-Committee meeting are also provided as new Appendix 5 - Minutes of PSC meeting for HGY.2023.0261 with title.

The relevant documents for this update are the Major sites list to Committee Feb 5 2026 and the Major sites cover sheet PSC FEB 5 2026.

The meeting will be chaired by Councillor Barbara Blake, with Councillor John Bevan serving as Vice-Chair.
